A steam retort is one of the most basic types of retorts, and is one of the most commonly used retorts. Chapters 1-6 will provide a general understanding of retorts and how they work, why they are used, and how to do your job as a retort operator. Chapter 7-9 will provide a general understanding of steam retorts and how they are designed, how they operate in detail, what records you should keep regarding them, and how to handle deviations.
